I find rock to be fascinating. I remember giant outcrops in the middle of rolling coastal fields above the Pacific Ocean near Marin County California where I grew up and liked to hike. Here in the Pacific Northwest, volcanics, granites and sedimentary rocks get smoothed down to these soft surfaces that meet the water. Crevices form where they meet that are dark and mysterious burrows. I adore stopping and resting on the warmth of these calm expanses.

Enjoying: the beach, the moment, the light, the climb, the reflections, the path, the distance…island life.

Trusting the current. What’s bubbling up lately? Under the calm reflective surface, what’s happening? When I’m at the water’s edge, I’ll wonder what’s going on in the depths. It’s my nature to be curious about the mystery and to reveal that through paint. Last night, we were eating dinner looking out over the inlet. Soft marine clouds and a calm surface when suddenly orcas came up for air! You never know what amazing life there is just below water.

The tides and winds create amazing patterns on the beaches. Especially with different inlets of water on the islands here in the Pacific Northwest. Paddling out to an island beach is a favorite pastime and brings calm that inspires.

Returning home after a bit of travel, an owl greeted me... flew to a branch close by in the early evening as I was on the driveway in a jet lagged stupor. Owls and I have been meeting for the last three years. Often. They carry the message of change, wisdom, intuitive connection, the capacity to see beyond deceit and mask. I’m listening. Things are changing for me. A deepening of sacred practices and connection to my soul’s path. Getting confidence to fully live from here. The art will reveal this too as will the offerings I intend to give. For today, it’s settling back in and feeling grateful for the warm greeting. This painting has owl within it - observing, patient and blended into the surroundings as it shares it’s wisdom.

Another inspiration….The ever changing shoreline and the magic left behind by the beautiful waves, the water softening the rocks and shells, hidden treasures that reveal themselves and the beautiful reflections within pools. Sacred medicine of nature.

What invites you lately? Lights you up? Aglow. Calling you to explore. Warm vitality and grace. What juicy experience are you hesitant yet curious to have? Can you take a step toward it and trust the desire? Wisdom is guiding us with love. I think this is pretty cool…coral.

Some reflections are as joyful as ever. Light filled, heart opening…with a bit of mystery and intrigue mixed in. They’re effervescent and you don’t even have to know why.
The adjective version of lush is ‘providing great sensory pleasure’ … no other words necessary than this. Pure delight from the play of movement and delicious color. A luxuriant feast for the eyes and soul. Mmmmmmm.
